Providing governance and functional guidance on IT systems dedicated to budget setting and budget implementation
The Inspectorate of Finance is in charge with steering the functional development of IT systems enabling the data processing of State's budgetary calendar as well as aiming to keep the budgetary accounting of ministries, administrations and publics services.
IGF's "accounting systems" and "IT support" departments take part in working groups of the monitoring commission at SIFIN (SIFIN standing for Integrated System of FINance). Within this commission, IGF representatives manage the design of new functionalities of the IT system, the follow-up of IT developments prepared by CTIE as well as tests and validations thereof.
Furthermore "accounting systems" and "IT support" internal departments provide second level support to the SIFIN system users for any functional matters not directly covered by CTIE. Both deparments are also dedicated to set national public accounting rules and give support to management of SEGS (Services de l'Etat à Gestion Séparée or own-managed public services).
IGF has implemented an IT system – IGF-BAF and related applications - dedicated to the budget process, which is maintained by the internal IT support department. This allows the output of documents which form part of the Budget draft act to be submitted to the Chamber of Deputies but also the data used to update the internet site "www.budget.public.lu".
